Had there been a web page available indicating the status of Outback's OpticsRE Server(s) it would have saved a bunch of preliminary diagnostics on my local system's connectivity to get focused on the MATE3s' to HUB as the likely source of 'Gateway Offline' errors.1 vote
The best place to go for OpticsRE status is… OpticsRE. If you can reach OpticsRE.com, the service is up. If we’ve taken it down for maintenance, that same page will tell you that. We also post announcements about upcoming outages here: http://outbackpower.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=46
Here’s an example of the last one: http://outbackpower.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=46&t=14524
Hope that helps.
Allow MATE to collect offline data and upload it when the internet becomes available again. Maybe allow the mate to read the SD card to fill out the gap between the last available online.1 vote
This functionality is already baked into the Mate3 and Mate3S controllers. The following knowledge-base article outlines the prerequisites: https://opticsre.uservoice.com/knowledgebase/articles/1840906-what-happens-to-data-when-my-controller-is-disconn
Address the bug when system stops tracking and flatlines for a few hours, then comes back and piles up the data1 vote
We’ve had a number of problems in the past like this and have done a lot of work to get the controller firmware updated to solve it. Have you updated to the latest controller firmware? Those can be found here:
It will be very useful to be able to download the Solar production data either in excel or .csv format for better analysis. Please make this happen.5 votes
By selecting System Tools then Reports, the collected data can be exported for the desired date range.
Ability to Export data to a Excel of .cvs format.
Have an API to allow us to display and brand the data our own way.27 votes
It is now possible using “System Tools” and “Reports” to then select a date range and have the stored data sent to you in a .csv file format.
Ability to sort event history by hitting top of columns1 vote
While we haven’t added event sorting (events typically make most sense when they’re viewed chronologically adjacent to other events), we have added search and event-type filtering to the Event History page to better narrow down the events to be viewed.
My system has an android tablet associated which displays the Optics dashboard of my system 24/7. The daily chart auto-updates throughout the day, but at midnight it just stops. It can't advance to the next day by itself. Each morning I have to manually click the date control to advance to the next day. It would be great to be able to wake up in the morning and have the graph showing the current day, not the previous day.
This has been implemented.
Ability to create default view of the dashboard. For example, I am totally off-grid and would like the dashboard to default to showing solar, from grid, and to load; not to grid or from grid.8 votes
We now save the graph settings to local cookie storage so that once you have configured your graphs as desired, you won’t need to reset them when next displayed.
Get the system stable BEFORE you make it any worse by adding more features!4 votes
when you go to a daily ,monthly screen make it so you can see the totals with and without grid power to get a quick look at what you system is actually is putting out1 vote
We now display accumulated values beneath the dashboard’s column selector controls (Solar, To Battery, From Battery, etc.).
Have a favorites, for those of us who look at a number of systems, it would be handy to see those quickly1 vote
We have added a favorites feature to the profiles page to allow you to show all or just your favorite sites.
OpticsRE needs the ability to detect when utility power has been lost and then send an alert via email and/or SMS. This allows net metering users (or UPS mode users) to know when the system is running off battery and take appropriate measures to maximize battery life.4 votes
We have implemented the following status alerts:
Grid Connected – Load Grid Transfer
Grid Connected – Load Grid Transfer/Low Battery Voltage
Grid Dropped – Load Grid Transfer
Grid Dropped – Load Grid Transfer/High Battery Voltage
show all charge controllers on the display and the production of each as KW , Amps and mode charger is in2 votes
We have implemented this suggestion in the form of a “hover tip” which appears when you hover the cursor over the charge controller icon on the power-flow diagram.
Vanuatu time zone needed1 vote
The time zone UTC +11:00 is available in Optics. That, together with the proper setting for “Support Daylight Saving Time” should cover Vanuatu.
It would be good to have the ability to view logs of the key stats such as load, PV and so forth rather than just graphs. Down to intervals of 1min with the ability to view and download.1 vote
System Tools, Reports will now let you download all available data to a CSV file for a given date range.
I think a Cookie to remember settings on the graph would be helpful, for example I may always want to see Three Days Ending, or always want To Grid = Off and To Battery = On4 votes
This has been implemented.
Restart the mate 3 remotely from OpticRe16 votes
The controller can be restarted remotely by selecting the Device Map, the Mate3 controller and then scrolling to the bottom of the Status tab and clicking “Reset Gateway”.
For cases where an auto-restart is desired, the “Auto-Reboot Interval” can be set from the Connectivity page.
RECOMMENDATION: When setting the "24-hour reset" feature for OpticsRE, you can choose to "enable" it or "disable" it, but OpticsRE apparently starts the 24-hour clock immediately when that change is made. I, for example, want to have my system reset at Midnight... the only way I can do that is to stay up and enable the function at Midnight. Why not include a box where I can type in the reset time that is independent of when I actually enable the feature?? Easy fix for greater convenience and functionality.2 votes
The controller reset feature was implemented some time back to compensate for issues which the Mate3 controller had with reconnecting to Optics after an outage. The latest Mate3 and Mate3S firmware versions are much improved in this regard. Our goal is to make the reset functionality unnecessary. If you haven’t, please consider upgrading to a newer firmware level as found here: http://outbackpower.com/resources/technical-support/firmware-updates
This has been implemented, UTC +12:00
We currently show shunt current in Amps in the hover tip as an instantaneous value. Amp-hours is an accumulated value which is shown in the time-based summary graph.
