Ability to Recieve Text for emergencies
It is nice to be able to get emails notification. But what I'd like would be to get a text for some critical events such as "batteries low" (aka the generator is going to start soon), and "generator failed to start", so I know I have to lower the load immediately to preserve the batteries and not drain them.

I tried the vtext system, but it doesn't work. To set up a second email address, at present you must have a separate Optics account for that address. Then you invite yourself to be an additional user through Optics, which sends an invitation with a link. However, the vtext system uses SMS, which has has a 160 character limit, which expires before it gets to the link. I tried the MMS system, which doesn't have a character limit, and for Verizon is vzwpix.com, but MMS isn't as stable at SMS, and the invitation never got to me. I finally solved it by setting up a separate email account just for this purpose, and having my phone alert me when an email comes in. BMillet at Optics was a great help on this.

This feature would be extra nice, since I put my phone on DND at night , so I would not recieve an email in an emergency, however I can setup telephone numbers to get through DND with text messages.

Most mobile phone companies offer an email address that can receive text messages. If you add a user to your profile with that mobile email address, you could set up such an alert. 5551231234@vtext.com for Verizon...
