Can't Change the Size of My Solar Array

On the upper-left corner of the OpticsRE dashboard is the production "donut". Beneath that is the configured size of the system's solar array. That looks like this:

In the lower left corner of that image is the configured capacity of the solar array. Under certain conditions the field will automatically calculate based on your system's combined solar output nameplate rating.
    For Mate3 / Mate3s / AXS Port Systems / RoseWater:
  1. When no PV Array size has been manually entered in the Device Registration page, the sum of all the Charge Controller nameplate ratings will be used as the PV Donut Maximum Magnitude.
  2. When the PV Array size entered is larger than the sum of all the Charge Controller nameplate ratings, the PV Donut Maximum Magnitude will be set to the sum of all the Charge Controller nameplate ratings. This prevents users from having a non-usable PV Donut, due to its maximum magnitude being set well in excess of the actual system capacity, for example when installers accidentally enter the PV Array size in Watts instead of kW.
    For SkyBox Systems:
  1.  When no Array Size (STC Watts) has been entered, the SkyBox nameplate rating will be used as the PV Donut Maximum Magnitude. This prevents users from having a non-usable PV Donut, due to its maximum magnitude being set to zero.
  2. When the Array Size (STC Watts) entered is larger than the SkyBox nameplate rating, the PV Donut Maximum Magnitude will be set to the SkyBox nameplate rating. This prevents users from having a non-usable PV Donut, due to its maximum magnitude being set well in excess of the actual system capacity, for example when installers accidentally enter the Array Size (STC Watts) in Watts instead of kW.

A list of all nameplate ratings by charge controller type:

SkyBox model nameplate ratings:
SBX5048-120/240: 5kW

Charge Controller nameplate ratings:

With 12V "System Voltage": 0.75kW
With 24V "System Voltage": 1.5kW
With 36V "System Voltage": 2.25kW
With 48V "System Voltage": 3kW
With 60V "System Voltage": 3.75kW

MX-60: Same as the FM60-150VDC.

FM80-150VDC:
With 12V "System Voltage": 1kW
With 24V "System Voltage": 2kW
With 36V "System Voltage": 3kW
With 48V "System Voltage": 4kW
With 60V "System Voltage": 5kW

EX80-150VDC: Same as the FM80-150VDC

FM100-300VDC:
With 24V "System Voltage": 3kW
With 36V "System Voltage": 4.5kW
With 48V "System Voltage": 6kW

Setting the Value Manually

The PV donut maximum magnitude can also be edited manually by selecting the "Settings" gear in the upper-right corner of the OpticsRE screen and then selecting "Devices". That will result in a display similar to the following:

The configured "PV Array Size in kW" is what shows in the dashboard.

This value is typically entered when the system is commissioned and may need changing if it was entered incorrectly or when the PV array size is changed.

There are two cases where this field cannot be edited:

1) You need to have administrator/owner rights to be able to modify this setting.

2) You need to have one or more OutBack charge controllers configured in your system.

If one or both of those conditions are not met, the field will be read-only.
